Accounting Bursaries

Accounting bursaries are offered by the big audit firms, banks, insurers, SAICA’s Thuthuka programme and several government bodies. Most are aimed at students on the chartered accountancy (CA) stream at a SAICA-accredited university, and many lead straight into a training contract after graduation.

Expect high entry marks, especially for Mathematics and Accounting, and check whether the bursary is merit-based or merit-plus-need. Some firms only fund from second year, so if you are in Matric, look for programmes that accept first-year applicants.
