Who can apply

• Be a South African citizen
• Have been born between 1 August 2010 and 1 September 2011
• Have completed Grade 8
• Be entering Grade 9 or or have completed one semester of Grade 9
• Reside in Cape Town or be able to live in Cape Town for the duration of the scholarship (with family or guardians)
• Have proven financial need
• Be fluent in English (spoken and written)
• Have high academic achievement in English language curriculum
• Have strong leadership skills and commitment to service
• Agree to abide by the school rules and policies as stated in the AISCT Parent-Student Handbook

What the bursary covers

• Tuition fee
• Admission fee
• Capital fee
• Macbook
• Textbooks
• AP fees
• SAT fees
• Up to six university application fees

Documents you will need

• Student’s vaccination record
• Parents or guardians ID Documents
• Tax Statement or IRP5
• Written tasks (Personal Narrative and Educational CV)
• Educational CV: this is where you list extracurricular activities, jobs held, special study projects, or activities in which you have been involved in the past two years in your school, community, or personal pursuits. Identify your role in each. List academic awards or special recognition you have received and the nature and source of each. This should reflect your commitment to and involvement in your community. This must be uploaded to the Documents section of the enrolment platform, must be named in the following format “Educational CV_Student’s Name”, and must be a maximum of 500 words. This must be in a CV format.

   Scan clear copies of everything the provider asks for, certified where required.

4. Submit before the closing date

   Usually closes around January. Late applications are almost never accepted.

Applications for the current cycle have closed. This bursary usually opens again each year, so prepare your documents now and check back.
