Postgraduate funding works differently from undergraduate bursaries. The DSI-NRF scholarships are the main national source, and research councils, foundations, industry bodies and universities add many more.
Deadlines are often a year ahead of your start date, and your university’s postgraduate office may have earlier internal deadlines. Speak to your supervisor early and apply to several funders at once.
