Fields of study

Bursaries will be awarded for studies within these fields

• Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering (1 bursary to be awarded)
• Geology (1 bursary to be awarded)
• Mining Engineering (1 bursary to be awarded)

Who can apply

• Be currently in Matric or have completed Matric
• Be studying or intend on studying towards a qualification in one of the fields of study listed above
• Be studying or be registered/ accepted to study at a recognised and accredited tertiary institute in South Africa
• Current Matric students
  • Have achieved a minimum result of 60% for Mathematics in Grade 11 of Matric mid-year exams
  • Have achieved a minimum result of 60% for Physical Science in Grade 11 of Matric mid-year exams
  • Have achieved a minimum result of 50% for Language in Grade 11 of Matric mid-year exams
• Current tertiary students: you must have achieved a minimum overall average of 60% for major subjects
• Technical fields of study
  • Have achieved a minimum result of 60% for Mathematics in Matric
  • Have achieved a minimum result of 60% for Physical Science in Matric
  • Have achieved a minimum result of 50% for Language in Matric
• Be hard-working and self-motivated
• Preference will be given to students residing within the local community (Mashishing, Roossenekal and Steelpoort), however students from other areas may still apply

Documents you will need

• ID document (certified copy)
• Grade 11 final results and Matric latest results, if currently in Matric (certified copy)
• Matric certificate, if completed Matric (certified copy)
• Proof of tertiary registration or acceptance (on institutions letterhead)
• Full academic record/ transcripts, if currently studying (certified copy)
• Curriculum Vitae (with a community stamp)

2. Prepare your documents

   Scan clear copies of everything the provider asks for, certified where required.

   Note: there is no application form to be completed for this bursary application – students need only submit the list of documents below to apply.

4. Submit before the closing date

   Usually closes around July. Late applications are almost never accepted.

Applications for the current cycle have closed. This bursary usually opens again each year, so prepare your documents now and check back.
